JANIS JOPLIN

Janis Joplin was an American singer-songwriter born on January 19, 1943, in Port Arthur, Texas. Shewas famous in the late 1960s as the lead vocalist of the  rock band “Big Brother '' and the “Holding Company ''. In 1968, Big Brother and the Holding Company made the album "Cheap Thrills," which featured Joplin's legendary vocals on tracks like "Piece of My Heart." The album was a commercial success and solidified her status as a rock icon. However, Joplin left the band later that year to pursue a solo career. Her own career reached new heights with the release of "I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama!" in 1969, showcasing her free and soulful style. Joplin continued to captivate audiences with her dynamic performances at iconic music festivals like Woodstock. Tragically, Janis Joplin's career was short when she died of a heroin overdose on October 4, 1970, at the age of 27.

STYLE

Her fashion choices were a visual extension of her rebellious personality and love for the counterculture movement. She usually wear clothing that attracted the attention of the public, like a gorgeous, big and loose, black, plain, leather jacket Which was accompanied by many bracelets and some sunglasses; She had too some comfort, loose, colorful, flowered and cotton dresses; She would wear  awesome, tight-fitted, medium dark, plain jeans.I need to say that this type of clothing is only seen on hippies nowadays and is not very well seen.

I must say that I had never heard any of Janis Joplin's music in my life, and now that I have given a chance to some of her songs, I must say that they are a little bit strange, but not entirely bad. However, there is one that stands out of all the music, "Piece of My Heart" seems to be more for me than the others. I don't know exactly why I like this music, but it's something more profound than anything else. I guess it's a personal thing. Maybe I will give a second chance to anothers kind of rock music, because until now I was not a big fan of this kind of genre.
