GUN'S AND ROSES
Guns N’ Roses is an iconic rock band from USA, made up by Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin in 1985. The original group is formed by the vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan and the drummer Steven Adler. Guns N’ Roses is known for their insane live performances and their fusion of hard rock, punk and blues rock. “Appetite for Destruction” is their debut album which sent them to the top, featuring hits like “Sweet Child o’ Mine” and “Welcome to the Jungle”. Despite some people leaving the band like Steven Adler, Guns N’ Roses continued releasing albums like “Use Your Illusion I” and “Use Your Illusion II”. Until now, this band is considered a global icon of music, having sold more than 100 million discs.
Guns N’ Roses is also recognized for their iconic style. They have a badass style similar to bikers clothing. They use to wear black, leather jackets combined with trendy, white, patterned, cotton, punk t-shirts; some fashionable, black, latex or denim jeans; a pair of astonishing, ankle-length, black or white, plain, leather boots, which use to have some “leather mini-belts”. Furthermore, each one of the members wears some complements. They all share silver braces or silver rings. What stands out the most in the group is Axl Rose’s style-he always wears a bandana to complement him and that makes him the image of the group.
"Sweet Child O' Mine"
My favourite song of the band is Sweet Child O’ Mine. The song is a “love letter” written by Axl Rose, as the song starts saying “She's got a smile that it seems to me, reminds me of childhood memories, where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky, now and then when I see her face, she takes me away to that special place”. My favourite lines of the song are in the first chorus sang by Axl Rose, that does an incredible performance, as his voice is very unique.
The first chorus is “Whoa, oh, oh, sweet child o' mine, whoa, oh, oh, oh, sweet love of mine”-it’s a very catchy and short chorus that is patterned in my memory. What stands out the most and the thing that I like the most from this song is Slash’ performance with his guitar, which is just astonishing and a hearing master piece. This hit has a catchy melody that keeps me hearing it once and once again when I’m chilling.
